#23 Nicole van Baardwijk | Why high performers need resilience training
Monday Jan 18, 2021
Monday Jan 18, 2021
Today I am interviewing Nicole van Baardwijk who is Co-founder and CEO of WOOSH5.
Nicole and I explored the importance of why high performers in your organisation need resilience training since It’s easy to think that high performers are incredibly resilient – that’s how they get so much done, right? And yet, it’s not their great coping skills that makes many high performers shine so bright. Nicole shared some ways to help your manage those high performers like:
Closely monitor the workload of your high performers to make sure they’re not overburdened.
Don’t wait for high performers to tell you they’re doing too much or they’re feeling stressed – they may not even realise it themselves!
Keep a close eye on their mental health.
Offer support in the form of resilience training, coaching and ongoing education around balance, boundaries and the importance of rest and recovery.

Today I am interviewing Wendy Born who is a engaging facilitator, coach, speaker and author.
We explored the whole area of creating great leaders, with an approach of using the principles of parenting in the workplace. This is not about having parent-child relationships at work, as these are not helpful but using aspects like role modeling - being aware that as a leader you are always on show and being observed for the alignment of what you say and what you do.
Wendy has written a book o this called 'Raising Leaders: Using the principles of parenting at work to become a great leader and create great leaders'. The book is available on Amazon.

Welcome to this solo series called BOOST, the purpose is to give you little BOOST to your day, to further provide ways to create a thriving organisation.
Elon Musk has this great mindset quote 'Stop being patient and start asking yourself, how do I accomplish my 10 years plan in 6 months? You will probably fail but you will be lot further ahead of the person who simply accepted it was going to take 10 years.'

Wishing you a Happy and all inspiring 2021.
