Chris Cook, former competitive swimmer for Great Britain, shares his journey and mindset shift after retiring from swimming.
Chris explains the darkness that he experienced after retiring from the only thing he really knew and loved and the difficulties of transitioning to the next stage of his life. However, Chris advocates for experimenting and figuring out what else it is that you truly enjoy, being cautious to make sure your ‘super ego’ is not stopping you from experimenting. Chris further explains the enormous benefit of making things simple. From employing an “I just need to swim 2 lengths” mindset in his swimming races, he now encourages this same simplicity across the businesses he works with, absolutely vouching for the business advantage it delivers.
