Today I am interviewing Mike Maynard who is the MD of Napier Partnership Ltd.
Mike shares his passion for recruiting and developing young people in his organisation, whether they are graduates or on an apprenticeship scheme. He likes the idea that they bring differing perspectives which challenge the norms, they develop fast and create a lot of high energy. Mike also shares the challenge of not assuming that they know it all along with making sure you communicate clearly in an open way, ensuring they have an opportunity to share their concerns and misunderstandings. He also supports them with a buddy system - like mentoring - so each individual can share with someone else other than their manager.
